*The amount of liquor
in our cream cheese frosting is so small (we use it to flavor
like vanilla) we do not consider the cakes frosted with it "liquored."
However, if you are concerned about any minute amounts of alcohol
that might exist in pastries in general please be forewarned
that while rum or orange curacao is 80 proof, vanilla is 70
proof. Therefore any product eaten that has uncooked vanilla
in it will have minute amounts of alcohol. All of our frostings
with the exception of whipped cream will have at least vanilla.
Please do not ask us to eliminate any liquor or vanilla from
our recipes. Without these flavorings the product is not the
same. One slice of carrot cake, for example will have about
1/4 teaspoon of rum. |
