This cake is best sliced with a warm-to-hot knife and best enjoyed at room temperature; pull this cake from the refrigerator one to two hours prior to serving.
Previously we decorated this cake in the same manner as our Orange Almond, with almonds on the sides and tops of the cake. However, due to allergy concerns we now leave the nuts off and decorate the cake with just icing. If you would like the addition of nuts on the side, please request so upon ordering.
The amount of liqueur in our cream cheese frosting is so small (we use it to flavor like vanilla) we do not consider the cakes frosted with it "liquored."
A sour cream pound cake made with poppyseeds and lemon peel, then soaked with lemon glaze. The cake is filled and decorated with rum* cream cheese icing. Also available in bundt style (with no icing).
